In 'Combat' after almost being ripped apart by a Weevil he got back to the hub and their Weevil was afraid of him (which I believe is because it sensed that he didn't fear them anymore). Then, once he was resurrected the Weevil's feared him because they sensed he was dead and it scared them. Plus in an interview Burn Gorman said something along the lines of "...we didn't /exactly/ see him die in [the last episode], perhaps he slipped into the sewers and became King of the Weevils."

It’s been a while since I watched the episodes but from memory I believe its because when he was resurrected the weevils were frightened of him and he was able to use that fear as a bit of a tool to control them. If I’m wrong, any fellow bloggers are more than welcome to correct me.

In short, I loved Jack and Ianto together but I loved Gwen and Owen more.
